MÜNCHEN (dpa-AFX) - US-Vizepräsident Joe Biden hat die iranische Regierung gedrängt, die Verhandlungen über ihr Atomprogramm wiederaufzunehmen. Im Interview mit der 'Süddeutschen Zeitung' (Freitag) bot er Teheran sogar direkte Verhandlungen an, weil es 'Zeit und Spielraum' für erfolgreiche Diplomatie gebe. 'Aber dieses Fenster wird nicht unbegrenzt offenstehen', schränkte er ein. Die USA würden einem Programm zum Atombombenbau nicht tatenlos zusehen. 'Wir werden Iran daran hindern, eine Nuklearwaffe zu bekommen', sagte Biden. Eine solche Waffe bezeichnete er als 'Bedrohung der nationalen Sicherheit der Vereinigten Staaten'./fi/DP/he
