Wien (APA-ots) - Marathon Zwei Beteiligungs GmbH ('Marathon Zwei'), a
wholly owned, indirect subsidiary of RPR Privatstiftung, a private
trust set up by the Austrian investor Mr. Ronny Pecik, has disclosed
on June 15, 2012 that it has entered into an agreement with a wholly
owned, indirect subsidiary of América Móvil, S.A.B. de C.V. ('AMX')
today, to dispose of its entire shareholding in Telekom Austria AG
('Telekom Austria' or the 'Company'), consisting of approximately 21%
of the outstanding shares of Telekom Austria. According to the terms
of the agreement, approximately 5% of the outstanding shares of the
Company have been transferred today to AMX, the additional
approximately 16% will be transferred upon receipt by AMX of certain
governmental approvals and other authorizations customary for this
type of transactions. The closing of the additional stake is expected
to happen during 2012.
Naguib Sawiris, chairman of Weather Investments II S. à r.l.,
which made a substantial financial commitment in connection with the
acquisition of the 21% stake by Marathon Zwei, is satisfied on taking
this opportunity to exit this successful investment.
Mr. Ronny Pecik, managing director of Marathon Zwei and vice chairman
of the supervisory board of Telekom Austria, is convinced that AMX
will be a strong shareholder for a secure and stable future of
Telekom Austria. He remains committed to help AMX to support the
future development and success of Telekom Austria and to foster the
relationship between Telekom Austria, its employees, management and
shareholders.
